UNFORGETTABLE VIEWS, ART, FOOD AND WINE, AND LOTS OF NATURE

In Tuscany there is a vast area called the 'Maremma', which stretches between the provinces of Livorno and Grosseto and represents a truly peculiar microcosm, with a changing and varied territory that extends from mountainous and wooded areas, through green cultivated hills, splendid villages and thermal springs, to the crystalline sea with long stretches of sand or rocky cliffs.

The Maremma is one of those places that has kept their soul intact and
that has not been contaminated over time, with their roots in past centuries,
when ancient civilisations found this area to be the perfect place to settle:
The Etruscans and Romans have left important evidence, but
the Middle Ages also populated this land with towers, castles and fortified villages.

Maremma, however, is not only nature and history, but also food and wine: savour it with a good glass of wine, or taste its typical products... if all the rest has not made you fall in love yet, our typical products will certainly win you over! To begin to discover the beauty of this land, we invite you to explore it starting from the territory of di Civitella Paganico, a "constellation" municipality, with six hamlets, once autonomous villages, now merged into a centre that encompasses them all.

    Surroundings

Civitella Paganico is the gateway to the Maremma: a land dominated by unspoilt nature and the Mediterranean maquis, with its scents and colours.
If you're looking for a "wild" holiday, the Maremma Regional Park is the place for you: as well as seeing the cowboys and herds of cattle raised in the wild, you can walk along the many paths that criss-cross this 9000-hectare green oasis. The protagonists of the landscape are the Uccellina mountains, a green coastal ridge dotted with ancient watchtowers. At their feet lie the Tyrrhenian Sea with its beaches and rocky coastline, and the plain of the Ombrone estuary.
The Maremma is also a popular destination for its sea, with high, rocky cliffs alternating with coves.

The Argentario, with its villages of Porto Santo Stefano, Porto Ercole and Orbetello, is a smart destination also known for its fishing activity and traditional initiatives such as the Palio Marinaro in Ferragosto.
